Projects

Every year 20,000 people cross our Bridge and 1,000 of them depart with new life in Christ!

For this kingdom impact to continue we must reinvest in our facilities.

Below are samples of the modernization projects already underway and in need of funding.

Main Bridge - Our main access to camp is over a wooden bridge that spans across Dutch Bill Creek. This past year we had to replace the rotten boards on the bridge. The next step is to paint the support structure and beams with a corrosion inhibiter. Without this bridge there will be no vehicle access.

Cost of Bridge Work: $30,000

Hillside - - is one of our lodge level accommodations. It sleeps 10 and not only does it include restrooms, but also a small living room that is sometimes used as a meeting space. The foundation that Hillside is sitting on needs to be replaced.

Cost of Foundation: $10,000

Dining Hall - Three years ago we did Phase 1 remodel to our dining hall. Phase 2 remodel projects include: replacing the lights and fixtures, upgrading the heating system, and installing carpet as a sound barrier.

Lighting: $20,000
Heating: $20,000
Carpeting: $50,000

YURT Pineknot Village - Pine Knot Village is currently a staff house. We have plans to turn this housing spot into another guest lodging area similar to Yurt Village that is currently at Ballfield. By removing the staff house that is currently there, we have plenty of level land to use. We are going to be constructing platforms and then installing up-scaled yurts. This yurt village will be designed to sleep 60. Electricity and heat must also be added to each yurt to make them usable year-round for guests.

Cost of Pineknot Village: $100,000

Playground - We have a playground available for use right outside the main office area. We would like to replace the wooden structure with something more durable that can withstand the elements. We have had to replace the tire swing numerous times this year alone. We know how important it is to parents to have a safe place for their kids to play.

Cost of Playground: $95,000

Forest Village is home to six of our cabins. Each cabin holds 8 guests and is home to a community bathroom facility. All the Forest Village cabins have been painted and were re-floored in recent years.
Rafter and Roof Replacement - We have updated the outside of the cabins, but now we need to pay attention to the inside structure. The roofs and rafters on each cabin need to be replaced.

Cost of Replacement: $60,000

Forest Village Bathrooms - The bathroom holds 2 showers and 3 toilet stalls on each side. With the large amount of guests using these facilities, they have gone through much wear and tear. We are going to remodel them and make them more user friendly.

Cost of Bathroom Remodel: $30,000

Pool - The pool has been around for over 40 years and in that time the plaster has not been replaced. We need to resurface the pool and create a new water flow system to automatically fill the pool.

Cost of Resurfacing: $40,000

Restrooms - The Tabernacle is centrally located in the camp, however that means it is also centrally located between, but not close to any, bathrooms. This causes issues for some groups with the restrooms being so far away. We want to build restrooms near the Tabernacle to accommodate these needs.

Cost of Restrooms: $50,000
